Maricopa Airport

Maricopa is one step closer to having an airport. The Maricopa Economic Development Committee announced they are entering Phase II in determining a final site for the airport. Once all the feasability studies are complete, they expect Maricopa to have a functioning airport within the next five to seven years.

Ed Beauvais, the founder of America West Airlines is working with the Maricopa Economic Development Committee. Mr. Beauvais was brought in because of his experience in using aviation to build a local economy. According to Mr. Beauvais, the airport, the industrial park around the airport and other economic activity related to the airport will bring approximately 50,000 new jobs to the City of Maricopa. With funding for the airport coming primarily from Federal and State grants, Mr. Beauvais says this will represent an investment of over $100 million in the community.

The first phase of the feasibility study has been completed in determining if the area could support an airport. The study confirmed that the City of Maricopa, “with a population and income growth often leading the country,” is prepared to support the airport.

Final selection of a site could be completed in the next 30 days. The airport will encompass approximately 700 acres, and obviously increase the value of surrounding property exponentially. Now is the time to be looking at adjoining properties from an investment view with a short term hold. Let us show you some investment properties that make sense now, before the planes are in the air, and another opportunity is lost.
